Where does the championship take place?
Communauté de Commune des 2 rives and Valence d'Agen
Located in the heart of the South-West, on the borders of the departments of Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot-et-Garonne and Gers, our territory, a major Occitanie site, crossed by the Garonne and the Canal des Deux Mers, is a real link between the Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions.
Let yourself be surprised by this generous and authentic land, let yourself be charmed by our beautiful villages with their remarkable heritage, let yourself be seduced by our destination.
In the land of ovalie, we love sport! Swimming, fishing, hiking, golfing, kayaking… you name it, we’ve got it.
And if that’s not enough… horse-riding, tennis or squash will also delight you. And if you’re a gliding fan, don’t forget your rollerblades: a practice area is open to you!
Valence d'Agen, land of roller skating
History
In 1965, schoolteacher Jacques Fronton founded the 1st roller skating club in Valence d’Agen. He trained the first generation of skaters who, in turn, went on to become the champions of future years.
In the mid-80s, the commune built a roller rink and, a few years later, a road ring. These two facilities form a top-quality complex that can host top-level events.
These include
– The 3 tracks
– Numerous French Track and Road Championships (2021, 2017, 2016, 2011, …)
– European Championships (1993, 2002)
– World Championships in 2001
Thanks to the human and financial investment made by the local authorities and the many volunteers, Valence d’Agen is today a stronghold of top-level roller skating.
